Attended robots are essential parts of the automation process at all company levels. Like other Robotic Process Automation solutions, attended robots reduce human workload, streamline work, and increase results. But no matter how much we want, we can’t reach the 100% threshold in automating all the business processes. Still, we need humans as much as we need robots. And if we combine these two forces, we can create a perfect duo that will bring stunning outcomes.

Attended robots work with human employees to share the workload regularly or in real-time. Digital workers can perform repetitive tasks and reduce error rates, while human workers can focus on more decisive work. Attended robots increase productivity, decrease error rates, optimize processes and reduce costs for tasks that cannot be fully automated. A human must activate the robot to perform a task. Then, the robot completes specific tasks independently while the employee can make a strategic, creative, and well-thought-out decision. Attended robots are mainly proper for front-office processes. They interact with human operators in a manner that is similar to working with an assistant.

What advantage do attended robots bring to your company?

  • Boosted customer service. Employees’ multitasking skills are often exploited to the maximum in customer-facing situations. They need to switch between multiple interfaces and systems while responding to customers. This can lead to issues that don’t always work out as expected. Attended robots take data entry off employees’ shoulders in real-time. So, they can focus on customer issues and make the most of their communication skills. The results will be increased customer satisfaction and, ultimately, a better standing for the company.
  • Quick return on investment. Despite being commonsensical yet widely used, the ‘time is your money’ maxim has not lost its power. This would result in saving time can lead to money savings. Both types of economies can be seen as opportunities to improve workflows by introducing value-adding processes. They are straightforward to implement and provide time-saving benefits.
  • Non-disruptiveness. RPA is simply an upgrade of existing processes. Bots are designed to solve specific, concrete problems and are used task-specific. They are therefore easy to integrate into the existing workflow.

Conclusion

Organizations often hear about the various types of robots that they can use for robotic process automation. The most common are attended and unattended robots. RPA is often used to automate repetitive and high-volume processes. However, many people underestimate the small and targeted automation.

The benefits of attended automation are well-known by organizations that have successfully embraced them. The best automation programs use a mix of unattended and attended robots to get the most from their RPA investments. Robots can work alongside humans in dynamic formats that increase employee satisfaction customer experience and generate higher returns.
