In 2020, the global logistics market was worth almost 8.6 trillion US dollars, according to  Statista. Europe was responsible for about 1.5 trillion dollars from this colossal sum of money. How many transport orders were there? And how many of them are still processed manually?

The average handling time (AVT) of an order is about 2 minutes/document. In terms of wages, the cost is an equivalent of 1.50 – 2.00 € per processed document . The transport orders come in various shapes, sizes, and formats (email, .txt, .csv, etc.), but the most common is the native PDF. Predetermining a fixed template and mapping per type of document results in high development and maintenance costs.

To prevent such situations, FastPath Automation developed a new solution –  Doc2Data

How does it work?

Doc2Data engine

The transport order is received either by e-mail or another type of system. Then, the human operator uploads it into the Doc2Data portal.

After the upload, the Doc2Data engine works on extracting the pre-set information, defining the type of document, mapping it, processing it, and then transforming it into an XML order.

The XML order is then sent via SFTP into the clients’ ERP or TMS systems.

What is an XML file?

An XML file can be described as an extensible markup languages file. It organizes data for storage and transportation.

There are two types of markers in an XML file: text and tags. The data structure is provided by the tags. These tags surround the text of the file you want to store. They adhere to defined syntax guidelines. An XML file, which is a standard text file, uses customized tags to describe the structure and transport of the document.

What is SFTP?

Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is a protocol that allows large files secure transfer over the internet. SFTP is useful in any situation where sensitive data protection is necessary.
